Single Point Model Tutorial Overview

Tutorial pages of single point model provide step-by-step instructions with recorded screens and dialogs to demonstrate how to run Single Point Corrosion Prediction in MULTCORP 4.2.

Single Point Corrosion Prediction applies the transient mechanistic CO2 corrosion model, and covers: electrochemical reactions at the steel surface, one-dimensional transport of species between the bulk solution and the steel surface, homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical reactions, kinetics of growth of iron carbonate films. The model can predict corrosion rate (including the presence of HAc), morphology of iron carbonate films and iron sulfide films, concentration and flux profiles for all species involved, effect of H2S, effect of steel type, effect of inhibition by crude oil and/or corrosion inhibitors, possibility and morphology of localized attack, effect of low temperature and effect of high salt concentration.

All movies are created using Adobe CaptivateTM software. In order to efficiently use those pages users should follow these suggestions:

  • Use controls at the bottom of the tutorial frame to pause, move forward or backward in the tutorial.
  • If you have a copy of MULTICORP 4.2, follow tutorials with a MULTICORP session open and follow steps from the tutorials.

If your screen resolution is 1280x800 or less, you may use the following tips to maximize the size of the tutorials:

  • Temporarily disable any toolbars that may take up your browser space.
  • View tutorials in full-screen mode (Select View/Full Screen from menu, or press F11).
  • Reload the page after any of these actions.

In order to choose any tutorial, click the links from tutorial menu on the left. While viewing tutorials you can see these instructions by clicking the Single Point Model Tutorials link on the left menu.

Note: In order to view tutorials you should install Adobe Flash Player plug-in for your browser, which may happen automatically. If your browser provides wizard to install plug-in, follow the instructions. Otherwise you can install Adobe Flash Player from the Adobe website.
